NAA to be fully integrated into QCA
18 December 2008
Following the report of the Sutherland Inquiry into the delivery of national curriculum tests in 2008, the QCA Board announced this week that the National Assessment Agency (NAA) will be discontinued and fully integrated into the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA).
This means that all work previously managed by the NAA, including national curriculum tests, support for the exam office and Diploma delivery, will continue under QCA management. The NAA brand will be phased out and this will be undertaken as quickly as is practical while avoiding unnecessary costs.
We are fully committed to providing continuity of support to schools, colleges, and local authorities. All training events organised by the NAA and visits from centre support officers will take place as planned.
We are working to improve on 2008 national curriculum tests service delivery and to implement all the recommendations made by Lord Sutherland. A statement from QCA's new Chairman Chris Trinick in response to the publication of the Sutherland Inquiry is available on the QCA website.
