Actions for autumn 2009

QCA continues its support for new exams officers with 10 free Actions for autumn training days in the autumn term of 2009. The events contain essential information for all new exams officers and will be of most use to those who joined the exams office less than a year ago.

Dates and locations (click on the links to see maps and directions)
22 September London
25 September Canterbury
29 September Cambridge
5 October Plymouth
7 October Bristol
9 October Birmingham (NEC)
13 October Leeds
19 October Newcastle
23 October London
3 November Manchester

Important areas will be covered such as making entries, applying for access arrangements and preparing for an exam day. The day follows a month by month approach, so you will learn what you need to do at each stage of the exam cycle, which will help your November and January exams run smoothly. Demonstrations of online tools will form part of the day, including Access arrangements online and the Key dates calendar.

In the meantime, you will find resources on the exam cycle page and online tools page of this website that will be useful to new exam officers. If you haven't already done so, get in touch with your centre support officer and consider registering for QCA's year long induction programme.

If you are registered on the induction programme, you will receive an email invitation to register for your priority place before the events. Registration will open for all in early September.

"An excellent day, highly recommended to any new or nearly new exams officer."

Keith Devereux,  new exams officer at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College
