Centre support team

The QCA centre support field team provides support and advice to schools and colleges on the administration and management of exams through network meetings, email and phone contact as well as one-to-one visits.

Working mainly with exams officers but also with senior leaders in centres and with local authority personnel, the team focuses on three main objectives:

  • supporting the induction of new exams officers
  • sharing good practice with centres to ensure the effective delivery of exams
  • ensuring centres are ready to administer the changes being implemented as a result of the 14-19 reforms.

The QCA employs 32 centre support officers based regionally across England. They all have experience of exams management and many have previously worked as exams officers.
